Club Constitution

This constitution sets out how Bosco Community Centre clubs are governed, how decisions are made, and how members and committee officers are expected to work together.

1. Name and Purpose

The organisation is known as Bosco Community Centre. Its purpose is to provide inclusive, safe, affordable activities and facilities for local residents of all ages.

2. Membership

Membership is open to all who support the centre's aims and agree to its code of conduct. The committee may refuse or suspend membership only for serious safeguarding or disciplinary reasons.

3. Committee Structure

The committee consists of a Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, and additional officers as required. Officers are elected annually by members present at the AGM.

4. Meetings and Voting

Committee meetings are held monthly. A quorum is three officers. Decisions are made by simple majority; if votes are tied, the Chair has the deciding vote.

5. Finance and Records

All funds must be used for community-centre purposes. The Treasurer keeps accurate records and reports monthly. Two authorised signatories are required for non-routine payments.

6. Safeguarding and Conduct

All volunteers and officers must follow safeguarding, health and safety, and equality policies. Serious incidents must be logged and escalated to the Chair immediately.

7. Amendments

Any amendment to this constitution requires notice in advance and approval by two-thirds of members present at an AGM or special general meeting.
