Bingo Night Operations Guide

This guide outlines the full process for running bingo night, including setup, gameplay, roles, and post-event tasks.


  • Mary McGowan gets a free bottle of 7up Free
  • Buy:
    • 3L milk
    • Biscuits
  • Turn on:
    • Water boiler (immediately for tea)
    • Heating (boost button in coatroom, hallway)
    • Sound system (open sound box on stage)
  • Front Desk: €100
    (2 × €5, 9 × €10)

  • Top Table:

    • €5 × 12
    • €10 × 30
    • €20 × 35
    • €50 × 14
      Total: €1760
  • Always take books in order
  • Books follow a repeating system:
    • Same prefix
    • Then: 1 of 4, 2 of 4, etc.
  • This prevents multiple winners per game
  • Open shutters
  • Turn on SumUp machines

  • Called at the start of the night
  • If a line or full house ends on this number, player wins €50
  • Only one magic number prize per night
  • Numbers are called one at a time
  • Players mark numbers on their books
  • When a line is complete:
    • Player calls “Check”
    • Checker verifies with caller
  • Starts at €1000 on 45 calls
  • If full house is won before 45 numbers:
    • Jackpot is awarded
  • Otherwise:
    • Runner-up prize = €200

  • Call the magic number at the start
  • Call numbers using bingo machine
    • Press Next
  • When “Check” is called:
    • Wait for checker
    • Verify numbers
    • Confirm with: “Good check”
  • Hold Reset button
  • Announce total numbers called
  • Provide this number to cashier

  • Record:
    • Magic number
    • Winners (line & full house)
    • Winning number (last number called)
  • On successful check:
    • Give prize to checker
    • Record player name in Bingo Journal
  • Track:
    • Total numbers per game
    • All numbers during jackpot round (compliance requirement)
  • Retrieve cheque from safe
  • Ensure two signatures
  • Give to winner
  • Split prize evenly
  • Round up to nearest €5 if needed
    (e.g. €100 split 3 ways → €35 each)
  • If jackpot not won:
    • Increase by €100
    • Increase call limit by 1
  • Draw 4 books from bin:
    • Winners get free book next week
    • Store with Bingo Journal
  • Record accounts in red Bingo Accounts book:
    • Profit (Bingo + Raffle)
    • Bingo income vs payouts
    • Raffle income vs payouts

  • Get microphone
  • Ensure it is working
  • When “Check” is called:
    • Go to player
    • Take book
    • Call numbers (low → high) to caller
  • If valid:
    • Collect prize from cashier
    • Give to player
    • Return player name to cashier

  • If not won:
    • +€100
    • +1 call
  • Select 4 books from bin
  • Store with Bingo Journal
  • Record in red Bingo Accounts book:
    • Profit (Bingo + Raffle)
    • Bingo totals (income vs payout)
    • Raffle totals (income vs payout)
